My brother doesn't have access to a computer but he's been getting opinions from people on how he should prepare for the upcoming corrections officer test and he asked me to ask you two things.
One is he has to do a 300 meter sprint and he's never been a running. He's been doing wind sprints to try and build up for it. Is doing the springs the best thing he can do in your opinion to build up in such a short time? The test is in a little over a week.
And his second question was in regards to diet. He wants to know what you would suggest he eats leading up to the test and the morning of the test so he has the most energy.
Thanks.

Hey lost, I would say that doing some sprints up to a few days away from the test to get ready would ok at this point. Just make sure he's not over doing it. The last thing that he needs is to get injured. Realisticly he's too close to the event for any training to make a difference. This would actually be the point in a training routine where an athlete would be tapering his training to let the body fully recover for the competition.
As far as the eating goes, I would recomend having about 50g of a startcy carb for dinner the night before, and then some oatmeal for breakfast with some type of protein that morning. This will help ensure his glycogen stores are high for the test.
