I believe one of the most important things that drives commitment and success in health and fitness is positive energy surroundings. These surroundings come from other people, music, books, movies, plants, etc. Below are 3 positive energy surroundings that help motivate me. My list is endless.... 1) Music: LL Cool J, Nas, Beyonce, Bob Marley, Santana, etc 2) Books: "Who Moved My Cheese" , "How Full Is Your Bucket", etc. 3) Movies: "Good Will Hunting", "Gladiator", "Karate Kid", "Batman Begins"/"Dark Knight", etc. Let me know what yours are ...

1) Music: Rise Against, Rage Against the Machine, Linkin Park (not sure if its all positive, but it creates a lot of energy for me when I'm hitting the weights)
2) Books: "Talent is Never Enough" by John Maxwell
3) Friends, Family, Co-Workers: I consider myself lucky to be surrounded by a lot of people who inspire me, support me, and elevate me. This is what allows me to continue improve myself.
4) Industry Professionals: I have a great deal of admiration for all of the people responsible for continuing to improve and elevate the fitness industry. Some of the individuals that have taught and inspired me are Mark Nutting, Gray Cook, and Mike Boyle.

1) Music - Just Dance (Lady GaGa), If I Were A Boy (Beyonce), Alone (Heart) - yes this is an 80s song , That's What You Get (Paramore), Untouched (Veronicas)...I am one of those people that can play the same song on repeat for an entire workout and it keeps me in the zone....strange - I know, but I don't get bored. 2) Magazines - I have to be honest, I don't read books, but I LOVE fitness magazines. My favorite is Oxygen! Reading fitness mags (Fitness, Shape, Self - whatever one it may be) gives me inspiration (I LOVE the before and after stories and pictures), new ideas for workouts and keeps me motivated and focused. 3) I love just being at the gym. I know that everyone there is working towards bettering themselves. 4) My husband and my trainer. Though he is listed last, he is the number one motivation in my book. He keeps me on track, but also reminds me not to be so hard on myself!
