The nutrition really isn't hard for me. It's quite easy. My bad habits used to be when I'd cave and eat bad foods and then that would make me want them again but if I went for a long time without eating junk I was fine without it. Now that I know eating well works I like eating well and I've really gotten into knowing about what I'm eating and how much better it is for me. Exercise has always been my biggest issue. I make myself do it but I'm more lax with my workouts than I am with my eating. It's all a work in progress.
As far as my back goes it's been fine so far. I actually skipped last mondays back work out but I did yesterday and it's been okay. I'm not sure what the problem was. I found this website called allexperts.com where experts in a whole array of fields offer advice and I asked about my back and the doctor said it sounded like I could have a dislocated rib. The day I actually asked is the day I got the pain to go away. The only thing that worked was this electric massager. I think the muscles were just so tense that nothing but a deep massage would release the tension.

And I found out that JIF now makes all natrual peanut butter without most of the bad additives like hydrogenated oil and a whole bunch of stuff I can't pronounce. I actually like it much better too. It's nowhere near as thick and it has a better peanut taste to it. It's the little things.

Best peanut butter ever is at Whole Foods. They have the machines that grind the nuts right there into the containers. The honey roasted peanut butter is like crack, I could just take a spoon to a whole container of it. Its also only got a few more carbs per serving than the regular.

Went for a walk/run this morning. I found this Couch 2 5K running application on iTunes and I bought it for like 3 bucks and I used it today for the first time. It lets you play your music in the back round and it tells you when to start running and when to walk. Much easier than having to always check a stop watch or something. I'm happy to say I did every single interval. In fact in the beginning I could have kept running longer than the day 1, one minute run interval but I just kept with the pace of the program. The last interval at the end was the worst. When I was done I had cramping in my back and it made my chest tighten up but I just kept walking and finished my cool down walk and obviously I survived. And it looks like I finished just in time because it's about to start storming around here it seems. Next time I go I'll have to remember to drink some water shortly before and to wear shorts. It got d**n muggy out.

I'm tired and blah today so I'm just going to put my back and bicep workout off until Friday instead and take the day off.
After looking into kettlebells and reviewing a kettlebell program my brothers martials arts teacher made for him I've been convinced to give them a try for a change of pace. My brothers teacher is in amazing shape and he uses kettlebells a lot. I need to spice up my routine and kettlebells are extremely versatile so I'm anxious to try that out and try new things.

Week 1 Day 2 of C25K all done and it was much easier this time around. It was probably a mixture of lack of hydration, heat/humidity, and not being used to running that much that made me feel so crappy the first time. I felt good even after the last interval this time. Only issue I'm having is some tightness in my calf and my Achilles tendon I think it is and a little bit in my shins. I feel like my ankles are loose if that makes sense. Maybe I just need to keep doing it to build up strength. I'm not used to running so it's all new to my body.

Finished day 3 of week one of the running plan Thursday and yesterday I did my new modified back workout. I just let my brother tweak my original workouts some. In between exercise sets now I'll be doing kettlebell swings for added cardio and I'll switch from my 15 pound dumbbells to my 20 KBs for some exercises. I can already feel a difference in my back and the work out as a whole was more intense. Hopefully I'll start burning those calories faster. I went with my cousin to meet his recruiter today so I really want to drop this weight off fast now.

Keep up the good work!! KB's are great for functional strength.
You said you were going to meet a recruiter, are you planning on joining the military?

Was out for over a week because my wonderful nephew got me again. I hopped back on the wagon yesterday with a back work out and I got tired pretty fast but today was good. I was worried after over a week of not running I'd have lost some of the progress I made but I was fine. I didn't lose any weight while I was but I maintained so I won't complain too much especially since my nutrition wasn't super strict because I was just happy to have an appetite for anything.

Glad to see your feeling better. Being really sucks. I rarely get , but when I do, its usually from being around a kid. Little nices and nephews are like outbreak monkeys

That's the exact term I've always used. Today I started week 4 of the Couch 2 5K program. The last time I did this program was years ago and I did it on the treadmill and I never was able to complete a full session on week 4 so I thought I might have trouble but I did in fact complete it. Running outside no less which is harder than a treadmill. I was happy about that. I wasn't running fast just jogging along but it's something. For now I'll work on running distances and then work on running faster.

Sticking to the nutrition was getting a little harder lately. I've been so strict for months. Only cheating a little here and there but the past few weeks it's been more frequent. I decided to go out to the store and buy some different foods so I could mix things up. For months at a time I was eating nothing but oatmeal, turkey sandwiches and bananas and apples. I was getting tired of fruit. I went to the organic aisle and bought a bunch of Kashi TLC bars, a bag of this really good granola, and I bought some trailmix. I guess I was missing the sweetness. Good thing about the stuff I bought is it's all low in sugar and more so it's natural.
